Zippole is a typical sweet of Sardinia it is a raised fried dough and is the sweet that is made and eaten for Carnival.
Like many of the typical sweets it is not really possible to make in small quantities or just one portion.
The ingredients used will make a minimum amount that should give around 2 kg of Zippole.
The amounts for this recipe:
1 kg of hard grained semolina flour
2 eggs
1 litre of milk
50 gr. of beer yeast
the zest and juice of 3 oranges
1 small glass of dry liquor
1 glass of dessert wine
a pinch of salt
tepid water as necessary
Sugar and plenty of oil for frying
Kitchen roll
All the ingredients should be at ambient temperature
